Exhibitions...
The group put on mobile exhibitions, at several venues each year, at which clocks, watches, tools and other artefacts are displayed in secure cases. We also have display boards on which are mounted maps and pictures of clocks, watches, tools, machinery, buildings and people working in the trade in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Members of the group are on hand to give advice to members of the public in respect of watches and clocks and we also have a database on which many visitors have found information regarding ancestors who worked in the trade.
No charge is made, but we do have collection boxes at hand and donations are appreciated to assist with setting up a permanent museum. Donations over £2 can also be handed to one of our members for crediting to our 'Buy a brick' campaign, which is to assist with repairing our buildings. UK taxpayers are asked to complete a simple form which enables the project to claim a tax rebate from the government.
We also sell copies of our booklets, copies of our DVD and watch stands. We usually put on exhibitions at the Earlsdon Festival, The Godiva weekend (lives and times tent), Coventry Society history fair, Coventry Family history society display and others. We are happy to consider requests to attend other events being held in Coventry.
